"Plains Drifter"  2017   Acrylic & Ink

This is a painting depicts an older man in a war bonnet (also called war bonnets or headdresses) are feathered headgear traditionally worn by male leaders of the American Plains Indians Nations who have earned a place of great respect in their tribe. Originally, they were sometimes worn into battle, but they are now primarily used for ceremonial occasions. They are items of great spiritual and political importance, only to be worn by those who have earned the right and honor through formal recognition by their people. The white buffalo is a symbol of sacred life and abundance. When a man looks back on his life, he should be proud of everything he’s accomplished when it’s his time and our Creator calls us home. The buffalo appears as this man reflects on his life as apparent in the reflection of his aviators.
