"Girl of the Water"  2016   Prismacolor Colored Pencil

Girl of the Water is a colored pencil drawing that I created that oftens gets mistaken for a painting. She is my interpretation of the Apache Water Diety who is tasked with protecting our natural resource. Scarcely seen by humans, her eyes are the first thing we notice. They say the eyes are the window to the soul, and in her eyes we can see that water flows through her. Her dress simulates the sound of flowing water when she walks and her beads emulate the blue water that flows over and around the river rocks.
